Care
At Fruitchouli, each piece is knitted to order using carefully chosen yarns. With the right care, your knitwear will maintain its beauty, shape and softness for years to come.
We encourage gentle, considered care practices that honour both the garment and the environment.
Our knitwear contains no hidden synthetic elastic, allowing each piece to remain fully biodegradable and to gently regain its shape after washing.
General Knitwear Care
Hand wash gently in cool water with a mild biodegradable detergent. Do not wring. Press water out between towels, then dry flat out of direct sunlight and away from heat.
Always store your knitwear folded, never hanging, to preserve its shape. Keep pieces out of direct light, ideally in the organic cotton Fruitchouli bag provided with your order.
To maintain your knitwear for the longest time, we recommend hand washing. Our 95% Organic Cotton 5% Cashmere and 70% Organic Cotton 30% SeaCell™ Lyocell pieces can also be machine washed on a cold, gentle cycle. Between washes, refresh your knitwear by airing it out.
When in doubt, choose the gentlest option. Hand wash and dry flat in shade.
For detailed care instructions, please refer to your garment care label or the individual product page for each design. The care label is located discreetly behind the knitted brand label.
Pilling
Pilling is a natural characteristic of knitwear made from soft, natural quality fibres. It occurs as the yarn relaxes and interacts with movement during wear.
To care for pilling, gently remove surface pilling with a fabric shaver (a sweater comb can also be used). Avoid pressing into the knit; glide lightly across the surface. With time, pilling will lessen as the fibres settle.
Repairs
Even with the most careful wear, small damages can occur over time.
