Environmentally conscious knitwear.
Every yarn and finish is chosen for its minimal impact and natural return to earth. Designed to be worn for years, each piece reflects the care taken before, during, and after it reaches you.
Biodegradable Knitwear
All our yarns and knitwear components are made entirely from naturally biodegradable materials. We use no fibres or components of synthetic origin, and all our knitwear is 100% plastic-free ensuring no microplastic shedding during washing.
Each Fruitchouli piece is designed for lasting wear and made only from materials that naturally break down without synthetic waste at the end of its life.
Repairs and Recycling
If your garment is damaged, please reach out to us for our repair service at info@fruitchouli.com. We believe in keeping garments in use for as long as possible.
If you are ready to part ways with your Fruitchouli knitwear, we advise you to research donation options, government garment recycling methods, or selling your piece through a reputable pre-loved process.

Every yarn we select for our Australian-made knitwear is chosen for exceptional comfort, natural biodegradability, and adherence to rigorous social and environmental standards. All meet OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 requirements.

Knitwear Components
All components are designed to be entirely biodegradable.
Garment Labels
Origin: Knitted in-house at our Australian knitwear studio.
Composition: Carbon neutral yarn made from 95% Organic Content Standard (OCS) and Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) Certified Organic Cotton and 5% Good Cashmere Standard (GCS) Cashmere. Sewn on with reclaimed yarn from our knitwear studio, matching the same yarn composition as the garment.
Circularity: Biodegradable.
Care Labels
Origin: China
Composition: GOTS certified organic cotton with sustainable ink. Sewn with undyed organic cotton thread.
Circularity: Biodegradable.
Sewing Thread
Origin: The Netherlands
Composition: Undyed GOTS certified organic cotton with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification.
Circularity: Biodegradable.
Handmade Drawstrings
Origin: Created in-house at our Australian knitwear studio.
Composition: Reclaimed yarn recycled from unwinding product samples and tests in our knitwear studio. When making drawstrings, we use the same yarn composition that has been used for the main garment.
Circularity: Biodegradable.
Packaging
Our packaging is biodegradable, reusable and curbside recyclable.
Bookmark Hang Tags
Origin: Paper from Japan. Printed in South Korea.
Composition: FSC-certified paper printed with eco soy-based inks. Attached with reclaimed yarn from our knitwear studio.
Circularity: Thoughtfully designed to be repurposed as a bookmark. At-home compostable and curbside recyclable. Remove yarn if recycling hang tag. Yarn is biodegradable.
Shipping Boxes
Origin: Made in Australia.
Composition: FSC-certified glue-free kraft boxes. Logo printed with soy-based ink.
Circularity: Reusing the box is the best option for our environment. Curbside recyclable and at-home compostable.
Packaging Tape
Origin: Made in China.
Composition: FSC-certified kraft paper. Non-toxic water-activated adhesive and printed with soy-based ink.
Circularity: At-home compostable and curbside recyclable; meaning you do not have to remove the tape from our shipping boxes when recycling.
Shipping and Barcode Labels
Origin: Made in Australia.
Composition: Biodegradable and compostable labels, with compostable adhesive. The shipping label is pre-printed using compostable ink. Direct Thermal technology allows us to print our labels without the need for ink.
Circularity: At-home compostable and curbside recyclable; meaning you do not have to remove the labels when recycling.
Laundering Treatments
Origin: Manufactured by ecostore in New Zealand in a certified carbonNZero factory.
Composition: Plant and mineral-based ingredients, fragrance free. Free from optical brighteners, phosphates, and synthetic dyes. Cruelty free. Containers are made from renewable sugarcane plastic.
Circularity: Residue is grey-water safe and suitable for our on-site worm-farm systems. Containers are curbside recyclable.

Certification documents are available on request. Certifications reflect the documentation provided at the time of material supply and are reviewed as part of our reordering process.
Shipping
All shipping is carbon offset through Australia Post and UPS.
